<p>Appts. is for continuously converting thermoplastic sheet into open or closed profiles by passing the sheet between a series of elongated guides which form successive complementary folds and fix the fold by applying a narrow hot former to the inside of the crease during forming. Ancillary integrated equipment provides for dispensing the sheet from rolled stock, accumulating surplus sheet feed adjacent to any intermittent stationary treatment such as press. embossing, printing, etc, applying adhesive stripes to seal longitudinal joints on closed folded structures, and cutting the shaped profile to controlled lengths. Suitable for forming trough or hollow profiles at rates of e.g. 14-25 m/min. for producing, packaging or cladding for e.g. window or door frame profiles etc. The appts. offers fast throughput and is thermally efficient because the fixing heat is only applied along the crease zone and not wasted on adjacent planes of the sheet.</p> |
