Solar heating system with auxiliary heat source - has heat sensor near heat collector to control valve for auxiliary circuit

A solar heating system has its collectors connected by water circulation pipes to a circuit with a heat exchanger coil (10) immersed in a hot water tank (16) and by a control valve (8) with a conventional heater (11). The main circuit includes a monometer (13), expansion tank (14) and pump (4). The tank may be connected with a topping up tank (22). The heat collector may have a heat sensor at the water circulating connection to operate the pumps and compare the temperature of the water at one side of the coil (10) to control the auxiliary heating circuit when the heat collector is not operative, e.g. at night.
