Unbaked ceramic body is baked to produce a monolithic, sintered ceramic contg. several thin electrode zones. The body consists of a compressed stack of thin ceramic foils contg. a binder removed by heat and >=2 pseudoconductors are interleaved with the foils. The pseudoconductors have a smaller area than the foils and consist mainly of a material removed by heat. The foils have two separate holes leading to alternate pseudoconductors. The body is pref. used to mfr. components such as capacitors, where sintering removes the pseudoconductor layers leaving cavities 0.0025-0.025mm. thick which are filled by metal with m.pt. lower than the sintering temp. of the ceramic, and lower than the m.pt. of two conductor leads, one lead being used in each set of aligned holes. For use on printed circuit boards and similar electronic devices. Electrodes can be located by simpler, less expensive, and more efficient methods than in the prior art.
|
