A Parent Patent describes a separation chamber for continuous deflection electrophoresis of a vehicle-free electrolyte stream, comprising electrodes parallel to the electrolyte flow and feed and return lines for the electrode buffer, and the chamber buffer and the substance to be sepd. In the addn. the sepg. chamber is bounded by an outer block contg. a recess and an inner block occupying the greater part of this recess with a narrow gap between them to form the separating chamber. Pref. the surfaces of the inner and outer blocks defining the sepg. chamber are shaped to provide a trough-shaped chamber. Pref. the inner block is a cooling block contg. a passage for cooling liq. The entire appts. is made up very simply of the two blocks, and also the electrode blocks, and also the electrode block alongside. This simplifies construction, maintenance and use. Errors are eliminated by the simplicity of construction.
