摘要 <p>Sepn. of coatings from the surrounded cores of coated particles, in particular for breaking up silicon carbide coated particle nuclear fuel consists of accelerating the particles by a gas jet against a stationary wall so that the coatings are ruptured and come away. The particles are entrained in the gas flow, as it passes along a duct and are accelerated by it before they are projected onto the stationary wall; the particles are fed into the gas flow within the duct at a sufficient distance from the point of projection to reach the necessary speed for their coatings to be ruptured upon impact. Method and appts. are simple, the method can be easily adapted to different types of particles. Min. dust is produced and the cores are not shattered. There is only one impact of the particles upon the wall.</p>
