Vacuum tube power switch - has no:load voltage and grid impedance selected to accord with max. grid power loss

The vacuum tube power switch consists of screen-grid triode switch (2) between the high voltage d.c. source (1) and the load (RV). The triode tube is controlled by a voltage applied to its grid. The grid voltage source coupled to the grid is chosen as regards no-load voltage (UG10, UG20) and internal grid impedance (RiG1, RiG2) such that power is matched to the maximum permissible grid power loss. (The no-load voltage is twice that at maximum allowable grid power loss).
