<p>A tile press has at the feed end a chute with two rollers at the top, rotating towards each other, which feed the material into a cylindrical chamber contg. a planet drive arrangement which then discharge upwards to deliver the material through a horizontal discharge opening. There, a rising and falling discharge member feeds the material in measured amounts to a moulding block mounted on a horizontal belt conveyor. The cylindrical chamber contains a set of annular partitions and spacers which together with the gear wheels of the planet gear, compact the material for delivery through the discharge opening, first dividing the material into a set of separate paths then uniting them into a single stream. The material delivered is then cut into suitable lengths to form the tiles.</p> |
