The multiple plug and socket pipe coupling consists of two discs each having a number of holes into which the pipes are fitted. Each pipe has an end fitting (9) provided with a shoulder (8) separated by a circumferential groove from the conical end (12). The disc (1) has a stepped bore to suit the fitting (9) and the smaller bore is provided with a spring lip (14). When the fitting is pushed into the bore in the disc (1) the conical end (12) deflects the lip (14) which springs back into place into the groove (13). The steeper slope of the conical surface forming the wall of the groove prevents accidental removal of the fitting.
