The frame-shaped bridge girder support structure has support forces introduced on its upper side, while bearings for setting on supporting traverses are mounted on the underside. The underside is in the form of a tension bar (1), with its ends firmly joined to bearing tops (3). Two transversely divided compression bars (4, 10) are mounted between the force introduction system point (7) and the two bearing tops, and each of these is fitted with a bearing (12) in the dividing plane. One-sided horizontal forces from traffic or wind loading are absorbed within a closed force system.
