<p>A scraper chain conveyor along the coal face in a mine has trapezoidal shaped sections, the end faces being the sloping sides, so that they can be angled at corners. They form part of the support arrangement for the mining machine, and are in turn carried by trapezoidal plates (6) underneath. These plates have portions of their edges rolled upwards (5) and connecting bolts passed through. The actuator cylinders (26) which advance them are attached to flanges on that side. On the other side, they rest against an L-shaped support (13) for the mining machine, the edges being rolled downwards (4). Tapered pegs (18) project outwards to fit into the base of the L supports (13). Fittings (16) on the other side have slotted holes (15) for securing members (16) to which further machine supports (14) are secured by bolts.</p> |
