Permonocarboxylic aq. concentrate stable to storage - contg. percarboxylic and/or carboxylic acid, hydrogen peroxide and water

An aq. monopercarboxylic acid compsn. contains 0.5-20% of a 2-3C percarboxylic acid and/or the corresp. carboxylic acid, 25-40% hydrogen peroxide and the rest water. The compsns are used as organic oxidants, for treating hair and textiles, also as microbicides and virocides. Present concentrates, contg. e.g. 35-45% peracetic acid, 40-55% acetic acid and about 15% water require very careful handling for dilution in use because of the pungent smell and corrosive action of the concentrate. If only a 5-25% aq peracid soln is used, it is not stable to storage. The above are stable to storage, do not have the pungent smell and can be easily diluted without considerable safety precautions.
