<p>The hydraulic telescopic vibration damper has a cylinder divided by a piston into two working chambers, the top one being connected to the bottom one by a valve and drillings in the piston. A hydro-mechanical limit stop for the piston comprises plate springs preceded by a stop plate with throttle passages to give additional hydraulic damping. To give a two-stage rising characteristic, the plate slides in the upper working chamber in relation to a circlip, securing the plate springs and loaded by them, being kept clear of the plate springs by a further spring. This ensures that the piston strikes the stop gently, even when its speed is high.</p> |
