1489853 Electrical connector AMP Inc 20 April 1976 [28 April 1975] 15831/76 Heading H2E In an electrical connector in which at least one terminal post 2 is provided with a tubular filter 3 connected electrically between the post and a composite earth plate 5 the outer electrode of the filter contacts the ground plate 5 on mounting the filter when inwardly directed tines 10 of an overlying metal foil 7 are compressed into and against the inner surface of a receiving bore 8 in a metal plate 6. A contact spring 4 connects the post to the filter. The foil 7 is secured to the plate 6 by conductive epoxy resin. An insulating plate 12 isolates the end of the filter from the metal of connector casing 1. The earth plate 5 is constructed with as many bores 8 as the connector has terminal posts and, should a post not be provided with a filter, the associated overlying tines 10 on foil 7 are removed as they would otherwise earth the post. |
