1518457 Explosive compositions NITRO NOBEL AB 9 April 1976 [29 April 1975] 14470/76 Heading C1D A composition which will set to produce an aqueous gelatinized explosive comprises an oxidizing salt, a fuel, water, a gelatinizing agent, and a tellurite, e.g. sodium or potassium tellurite, as a cross-linking agent which controls the time taken to reach the final gelatinized condition. Ingredients referred to are ammonium nitrate, sodium nitrate, methylammonium nitrate, guar gum, carbohydrates, hydrocarbons, carbon, urea, finely divided metals, TNT, nitrocellulose powder, and PETN. When the composition is pumped into a borehole, the last portion may have a higher rate of gelatinization than the first portion, so as to form a plug in the mouth of the borehole. |
