As shown, the rotor has rigid walls 4, 5 and a resilient wall 3 abutting the walls. Gas under pressure enters the rotor at 13 to fluidize material within the rotor so that as the rotor rotates the material pushes the wall 3 away from the wall 5. In a second embodiment (Fig. 2), the rotor has two opposed cups, one of which is resiliently biased towards the other but which can be moved apart to form the outlet slot.</p> |
