1489847 Hydraulically driven eccentric mass vibrators P SCHMIDT [trading as TRACTOTECHNIK PAUL SCHMIDT] 25 July 1975 [4 Sept 1974] 31311/75 Heading F2X An hydraulically driven eccentric mass vibrator comprises two pairs of out-of-balance masses rotatably driven about a common axis 26, one pair 28, 30 in one direction, the other pair 32, 32 in the other direction, by an hydraulic motor 36 offset from the common axis. The masses 28, 30 are keyed on a rotatable shaft 26 defining the common axis, and the masses 32, 32 are rotatable on a fixed hollow shaft 27. The hydraulic motor 36, through a reversing gear-box (not shown), produces oppositely rotating outputs, one of which drives, through sprocket wheel 38 chain or belt 40 and drive wheel 42, the shaft 26 and masses 28, 30, and the other of which drives through sprocket wheel 44, chain or belt 46 and drive wheel 48, the masses 32, 32. As the pairs of masses are counter-rotating, their effect is cancelled after 90 degrees rotation from the position shown in Fig. 2, and is greatest after 180 degrees. The vibrator is mounted in the frame 10 of a sheet pile extractor or driver, which utilizes two further hydraulic motors. |
