PURPOSE:To provide an apparatus for detecting doubling of bills or the like, in which two sets of light emitting elements and light receiving elements are provided perpendicularly to the direction of transportion of bills or the like, and amount of transmitted light is detected, whereby doubling of bills or the like can be detected simply and correctly, regardless whether they are placed upside down or frontside back, or they are contaminated or not. |
