Yellow to orange, disazo acid dyes which have excellent application and fastness properties on nylon fibers, do not change shade under basic conditions and have the formula <IMAGE> wherein SO3M is meta or para to the azo group, R1 is selected from H, CH3, OCH3 and Cl, R2 and R3 are independently selected from H, CH3 and OCH3, R4 and R5 are independently selected from H, Cl and CH3, but only one can be Cl, R6 is selected from CH3 and C2H5 and M is, C1-4 alkylammonium and C1-2 alkanolammonium cations.
