<p>Azeotropic mixts. are of 1,1,2-trichloro 1,2,2-trifluoro ethane (I) with (A) acetonitrile and acetone, (B) nitromethane and acetone, (C) methanol, ethanol, isopropanol and nitromethane, or (D) ethanol, isopropanol and nitromethane. Used for cleaning of solid surfaces, e.g. removal of gases and oils from industrial products, cleaning of photographic film and prints, removal of polishing media, extraction of high quality products e.g. vitamins, enzymes, hormones, spices, as heat exchange fluids, electrical transmission and chemical reaction media and as hydraulic fluids. Esp. suitable for removing rosin fluxes from printed circuit boards after soldering. The compsns. are non-flammable under all conditions. Presence of acetonitrile or nitromethane prevents metal attack even after repeated purification by distn.</p> |
