<p>The machine dusts the surfaces of cheeses with salt and operates continuously. It comprises a chamber, divided horizontally by a porous membrane (4). This is covered with a layer (F) of powdered salt, replenished by air suction (30) from a side container (27). Air is blown through the membrane by a fan (5) in the lower part (2) of the chamber, the air being filtered (14) and warmed (7). A row of nozzles projecting into the salt form a salt curtain, the cheeses (18) being placed on wire trays (17) and passed through on a conveyor (15). An air curtain (23, 24) is each end and the salt is dispersed by deflectors (21, 22).</p> |
