The kitchen memory aid, used to prepare a shopping list, comprises a rectangular housing (1) into which a shopping card (9) carrying a list of different items (2a) can be inserted. The front face of the housing (1) has a series of push-buttons (3) each corresponding to one of the items (2a) printed on the shopping card (9) and which can be depressed to print a mark (10) on the card (9) next to the respective item (2a). The front face of the housing may be printed with the different items (2) next to the corresponding buttons (3), or it may have an aperture next to each button (3) through which the item (2a) printed on the card (9) is visible.
