The socket pin adaptor is used for domestic socket outlets to allow appliances with square or round pin plugs of different size to be used. It comprises an insulating block which has two elliptical holes (11, 11') the internal and external edges of which having a conductive coating, for coupling to the supply leads for the appliance. The spacing of the elliptical holes is such that the conductive coatings around their internal edges are spaced by the same distance as the pins of a small pin plug, while the conductive coatings around the external edges are spaced by the same distance as the pins of a larger size plug.
