A polysiloxane - urea - carbamic acid ester contains at least one unit and further units of the same general formula and/or no more than 1000 times as many units of the general formula R<SP>1</SP> a SiO (4-a/2) wherein R<SP>1</SP> is a C 1-10 alkyl, cycloalkyl or aryl radical, optionally halo- or cyano-substituted, R<SP>11</SP> is H or a methyl or phenyl radical, R<SP>111</SP> is H or a C 1-10 alkyl, cycloalkyl or aryl radical, optionally halo- or cyano-substituted, Q<SP>1</SP> is a C 2-10 alkylene, cycloalkylene, arylalkylene, arylene or alkarylene radical or a phenylenemethylenephenylene radical, and Q is a C 1-6 saturated aliphatic hydrocarbon radical of valency c, m is 0, 1 or 2, n is 2, 3 or 4, a is 0, 1 2 or 3, b is 0-200, and c is 1-6. It may be prepared by hydrolysis of the corresponding alkoxy, cycloalkoxy or phenoxy silane(s) (the silane-urea-carbamates being described in Specification ] ,239,677), or by reaction of the corresponding aminosiloxane with the corresponding isocyanato carbamic acid ester, obtained from a diisocyanate and an alcohol. In Examples 1 and 2 the silane is hydrolysed to the disiloxane and the silane is hydrolysed to a polymer; the silanes are obtained by reaction of an aminosilane from EtOSiMe-CH 2 Br and C 6 H 11 NH 2 with the products from the reaction of toluene diisocyanate with HO-(C 3 H 6 O) 13 (C 2 H 4 O) 17 C 4 H 9 or HO-(C 3 H 6 O) 29À4 H respectively. In Examples 3 and 4 the product from hexamethylene diisocyanate and the above butyl polyglycol is reacted with a polysiloxane MeSi[(OSiMe 2 ),CH 2 NHC 6 H 11 ] 3 or where Z is -CH 2 NHC 6 H 11 , the preparation of these polysiloxanes from the corresponding bromomethyl and other halosilanes is described.</p> |
