The safety binding releases the skier's boot in the case of a frontal shock. It comprises a tube (5, 6) on each side of the ski (1), lying in the longitudinal plane and able to pivot (7, 8) outwards. Inside each tube is a bar (2), sliding freely, and the tubes have an interconnecting spring (16). One end of each bar has a spherical head in a slot (11, 12) in an interconnecting spring-loaded transverse link (10, 15). The other end has a stop (3, 4) for the boot. Each stop operates on a curved cam plate (38) and turns outwards to release the boot. Pegs (39) limit the pivoting movement of each assembly.
|
