A heat transfer agent is fed to a heat consuming or generating device, and then collected back from it. Its temp. is measured before and after the heat generating etc. device. The device comprises a volume meter for the heat transfer agent, an analogue-into-pulse frequency converter, a switch and a counter periodically counting the pulses. A first pair of thermo-couples connected in series, and a second pair of thermo-couples connected in opposition are provided in the path to and from the heat generator etc. Output voltage of thermo-couples is, after amplification, applied to a control input of a timer whose release input is controlled by the volume meter. Its output operates a switch which applies to the counter a pulse train corresponding to the voltage difference of the second pair of thermo-couples.
