<p>Floating siphon system for removing sludge from a waste water settling tank comprises at least one float to which the siphon system is attached and on which is mounted a ballast tank for adjusting its buoyancy. Interior of the ballast tank communicates with the water in the settling tank via holes in its bottom. Upper surface of the ballast tank has a valve which can be connected to a compressed air source, to vary the buoyancy of the float by increasing or decreasing air pressure in the ballast tank. Pref. on the surface of the water in the ballast tank is a divider layer of a liquid which has a lower dissolution capacity for compressed air than water, pref. oil.</p> |
