Disinfecting and deodorising rubbish chute - has fluid reservoir at side of chute with vapour distributed by capillary action

The rubbish chute is permanently disinfected and deodourised by a reservoir of disinfectant fluid on the side of the chute (9) at its lower end. Holes (10) enable the vapours to rise into and up the chute by natural convenction. The base (2) of the disinfectant fluid container (1) is open to the atmosphere to create the necessary air flow. The annular base of the container contains the disinfectant fluid (4) this being distributed through the capillary action of an absorbent material (3). A filler opening(5) is provided in the base and a breather hole (11) and deflector (12) in the connecting duct (7) to the chute.
