The sectional shelving system comprises 'L' section posts (1) and rectangular shell panels (2) with downward returned 'L' section edge flanges (6, 13). The connection between the sheel panel (2) and the post (1) deploys post flange tab tensions (4) which engage slots (5, 15) cut in the shelf flanges. One upper corner (10) of each tab (4) is rounded and the tab is formed by cutting the parent flange along all but the vertical tab edges. The resultant tab (4) or flap is bent inwardly and then reversely bent to incline slightly away from the parent flange. The shelf panel edge slot comprises a tapered slot (15) in the vertical flange (6) and a rectangular cut out (5) in the lower return (13).
