The support plate is for flexible plastic tubes used in heating panels. The plate is made up of a base plate (14) on which are arranged rows of cylindrical protrusions (16) between which the plastic tubes are positioned. Each plate ends on a line through the axis of a row of protrusions. Plates can be assembled edge to edge and retained in place by fitting a split ring (18) over four quarter segments of the protrusions at the plate corners. The spacing between adjacent protrusions can be up to five times the diameter of the plastic tube.
