Non-crystalline non-flocculating copper phthalocyanine pigment - used in paints and printing inks, has low and stable viscosity

Non-crystallising and non-flocculating Cu phthalocyanine pigment, contg. Cu phthalocyanine (I) and/or substd. (I), contains 0.5-30WT.% (I) deriv. (II) of the formula: (in which Pc is a (I) residue; n = 1, 2, 3 or 4; R, R1 and R11 are H, alkyl, cycloalkyl or aryl gps.; R/R1 or R/R11 together can form a heterocycle). The pigment is prepd. by mixing opt. substd. (I) with (II). Prodt. is used in paints and inks for intaglio printing. The pigments are stable and give paints with good flow characteristics, i.e., low viscosity, little tendency to be thixotropic and little variation of viscosity with time, in contrast to conventional phthalocyanine pigments. No sepn. occurs in paints contg. other pigments, e.G., TiO2, C black and Fe oxide.
