<p>A low voltage miniature contact-breaker is used in tertiary networks and domestic supplies. It has a simple construction and can be made by mass production facilities. The breaker has an arc blow-out chamber made up by a stack of laminations. It also has a moving contact and a fixed contact. Bimetal strips and an electromagnetic solenoid are used to release a locking lever and separate the contacts Release can be due to an overload or short-circuit in the user circuit. The release mechanism has an electromagnetic solenoid, a strip for transmitting the displacement of the armature ot the locking lever, a return spring and other levers to actuate the moving contact.</p> |
