Also contained are inorganic Zn cpds. which aid carbon formation e.g. Zn-borate-silicate, carbonate blowing agents e.g. CaCO3 or BaCO3, a PVC stabiliser and conventional pigments and fillers. The compsn. may be mixed with cellulose contg. prods. sprayed or spread. In an example, a compsn. comprised chlorinated paraffin (100-400 pts. wt.) PVC (50-20 pts. wt.), azodicarbonamide (2-10 pts. wt.), SbO3 (5-20 pts. wt.), CaCO3 (75-300 pts. wt.), borax (12.5-50 pts. wt.), boric acid (7.5-30 pts. wt.), barium metaborate (12.5-50 pts. wt.) Zn-borate-silicate (25-300 pts. wt.) and dibutyltindimercaptide (2.0-5.0 pts. wt.).
