The process for making tobacco foils of improved breaking length from tobacco dust, binders based on cellulose derivatives and humectants comprises using a fractionated tobacco dust whose particle size distribution is between 0.02 and 0.1 mm, and also adding lower aliphatic alcohols before forming to the mass consisting essentially of tobacco dust, binder and water.
