Each layer pref. is in the form of a plastics-glass laminate, which can be produced by bonding a film to the glass or coating it with cross-linkable monomers and/or prepolymers. The required structure is embossed in the film or in the coating at the B-stage. Laminating with plastics improves the mechanical strength of the glass layers for handling. Ref. at least one of the layers is applied to the plastics-glass laminate. These can be a 0.05-1mm thick plastics layer with an embossed lens raster; a plastics layer with embossed mask; a plastic light guide layer, which can consist of several films; or a photographic layer. Each layer is applied to a substrate to give a plastics-glass laminate and the layers have protective coating(s). The heat distortion temp. of the plastics is above 60 degrees C, pref. above 100 degrees C.
