<p>The railway vehicle wheels give perfect running and have cylindrical tyre contact. The wheels are themselves inclined inwards with a slope of 1/20. Normally, they are on a horizontal axis, with inclined tyre tread. This type gives conic contact with the rail. The arrangement gives lessened energy consumption, less wheel wear, less rail wear, less noise and improvement in the wheel working conditions. It can be used on existing track, without track alterations. The axles can be inclined easily, in halves and rigidly held by the bogie, or chassis. Improved riding is given on curves and over points and crossings.</p> |
