<p>A rotary heald for a loom comprises a series of discs mounted on a central shaft so that each warp yarn passes between a pair of adjacent discs. Each disc has attached to one face a removable lifting element so that as the central shaft rotates a lifting element acts on a warp yarn to life it and so form the shed. By fixing different size lifting elements or adjusting the position of the lifting elements on the disc, different shed formations can be easily produced. This allows different pattern means to be formed.</p> |
