The electrically fixed fuse is for the main charge (8) of a missile such as a rocket and incorporates a safety device protecting it from inadvertent firing either electrically or pyrotechnically. The percussion charge (1) is mounted at an angle, in a tubular carrier (2) held in a safe forward position by a shear pin (7). When the missile is fired, gases entering a chamber (5) in front of the carrier, force it back under pressure. At the same time, a pin (11) projecting from the housing (3) engages a curved groove (12) along the side of the carrier, rotating about its axis. This aligns the percussion cha*ge with an opening (8a) under the main charge (8). Two electrical contact pins (9) are inserted in corresponding openings (10) in a socket at the rear. A pin (14) is pushed backwards to project from the casing to indicate that the fuse is armed.
|
