In a denitration plant for decomposing NOx in waste gas by adding hydrazine, improvement comprises adding hydrazine in the form of aq. soln. and heating aq. to obtain gasified hydrazine which is than injected into the waste gas. Hydrazine aq. soln. is heated with hot air from a compressor and sprayed through a nozzle arranged in a duct. The soln. can be heated with auxiliary gas or by heaters. NOx in waste gas from boilers, internal combustion engines or gas turbines is decomposed with hydrazine in gas phase without causing catalyst.
