<p>An alloy of compsn. 21-55% Ni, /-18% Co, 0.3-2.5% C, 0-3% Cr, 0.2-1.2% V, 0-3% Mo, 0-0.5% Al, 0-0.5% Si, 0-2% Mn, 0-2% Zr, 0-2% Nb, 0-2% W, 0-0.1% Mg 0-0.05% Ca, 0-0.2% rare earth metals where (% Cr + % Mo + % V + % Zr + % Nb + % W) = 1-4, (% (Ni) + 0.75 (% Co) = 30.5 - 55 and (% Ni) / (% Fe) >=0.4, bal. Fe, with an austenitic structure is produced. It is age-hardened for 1-24 h at 500-900 degrees C pref. for 8-24 h at 700 degrees C. If pref. the compsn. is 21-43% Ni (%Ni) + 0.75 (% Co) = 31.5-43, 0.1-1% Cr, 0.3-1.0% C, 0.2% Mo, with (% Ni) / (%Fe) >=0.45 then the 0.2% proof stress at 500 degrees C is >=200 N/mm2 and the thermal expansion coefficient 20-350 degrees C is 6.5 x 10-6/degrees C.</p> |
