Device for regulating welding processes, esp. for electric welding appts. using a non-consumable electrode, where the device measures the temp. at the side of the work-piece facing the burner. Several photodiodes are connected in parallel and arranged in a row outside the plane of the welding gap and at the same distance from the gap. The reciprocal voltage of the photodiodes is used for the direct control of the welding current. The row of photodiodes is pref. located inside a U-shaped box or channel, and several channels may be connected together in a flexible manner. The device is pref. employed in the butt welding of tubes, where the row of diodes is located inside a hollow cone assembled for several segments clamped by a colar round one of the tubes so the diodes are exposed to radiation from the hot joint. A simple device for ensuring high weld quality without any program control, e.g. a burner can be located inside two tubes to make a butt weld and its rotation controlled by the photodiodes monitoring the temp.
|
