<p>A hot and cold water mixing tap has a hollow valve piston (6) which is located inside the valve bush (1). The valve bush (1) and the valve piston have two identical sets of transverse holes (2-5) and (7-10). By axially moving or rotating the hollow valve piston (6), the mixing ratio as well as the flow volume of water through the valve can be regulated. In order to reduce water flow noise inside the valve, two concentric mesh-sleeves (17, 18) are located inside the hollow valve piston (6). Thus the incoming water flows through mesh (17) when entering the valve piston. In order to reach the exit ports (4, 5) on the valve bush (1), the water has to flow through a second mesh sleeve (18). Since the flow pattern is diffused, it produces little noise.</p> |
