The jewellry articles comprises a polished precious stone inserted in a setting (10) the peripheral wall (14) of which has an inner face which expands outwards in cross-section from the base of the setting. The centre of the base (12) is provided with a guide member (16) which projects at right angles and is connected to a guide part (24) which is displaceable on same and is fastened to the base surface of the stone (20). The guide member pref. consists of a ram (16) with a cylindrical outer face whilst the guide part consists of a sleeve (24) which can be displaced on the ram and secured in the preset slide position. It is essential that the two guide elements are displaceable to right angles to the setting base relative to each other, with one guide element firmly connected to the stone and the oather associated with the setting so that the stone can be guided relative to the setting.
