Rod shaped cutter bits are inserted in grooves in a carrier disc, surround by a clamping ring with holes for clamp screws. The clamping ring is provided with a conical bore and the carrier disc has a conical periphery. The ring is held on the disc by frictional contact between the two mating conical surfaces. This avoids expansion of the clamping ring. The carrier disc (1) is provided with a conical periphery (7), and the cutter bits (3) are aligned in the disc (1) by adjusting screws. The disc is surrounded by a clamping ring (2) which has a conical bore (6) mating with the conical surface (7).
