1475914 Rotary filter MASCHINENFABRIK BUCKAU R WOLF AG 17 Oct 1974 [26 Oct 1973] 45119/74 Heading BID A filter comprises inner and outer concentric walls 1, 2 rotatable about a vertical axis and enclosing between them a frame comprising inner and outer rings 4, 5 connected by radial spokes 6 which define a series of generally trapezoidal cells (Fig. 2, not shown), each accomodating a removable box 8 having a filtrate outlet 14, leading to a central discharge unit 16, and an open top bridged by filter medium. Walls 1, 2 and the frame can be made of thick but cheap steel while only the thin-walled boxes need be made of high-grade steel or plastics to resist corrosion. In Fig. 4 (not shown) the boxes are coated with rubber. Spokes 6 are of T-section (Fig. 5), and support strips 24 with dovetail grooves in which sections of filter cloth 22 are retained. The sides of boxes 8 have outwardly projecting flanges 17 which rest on strips 24. Screws 26 secure cloth-supporting sieves 21 and box flanges 17 to strips 24, and screws 25 secure strips 24 to spokes 6. Boxes 8 are replaced when worn. |
