Stability evaluation in dispersions - using sediment contents measurement over height of dispersion by laser optics

The appts. determines sediment contents in dispersions in order to evaluate their stability for measurement at optimal times over the height of the dispersion of solid concentrations from which the stability is derived. The measurements are continuously conducted in the settling direction and repeatedly during the sedimentation process. The measurement process involves turbidity light scattering or absorption techniques using light of high energy density and degree of coherence, e.g. laser light. Relative motion between detector system and curvette is adjusted to the specific sedimentation contents.
