<p>An attachment for the final condenser of a still, has an inlet to be connected to the condenser outlet, followed by 2 changeover valves controlled automatically by monitors, responding to the parameters of the distillate, such, as, volume, weight, time, or specific gravity, for separately regulating the flow of the first, main and end fractions. The nominal value of the parameters can be preselected by adjustable devices, and the flow of the distillate is distributed from a column with an annular overflow trough, from which 2 branch lines drain from different levels. One of the lines feeds the changeover valves and outlet pipes. The other branch feeds the first fraction vessel in which a float lifted by the distillate closes a circuit energising one of the changeover valves. The overflow and first fraction vessels may have solenoid controlled shut off valves similar to the changeover valves or have manually operated valves. In the overflow vessel a hydrometer is provided which, as the density rises, energises the other changeover valve. The operative is relieved of all tasks except to see that the various fractions are collected in the appropriate vessels.</p> |
