Transfer mechanism for manometers with Bourdon tubes - eliminates finely toleranced toothed gears by using lever wire and shaft

The transfer gear is for a manometer with a Bourdon tube designed to convert the directly linear motion out of the tube into a rotary motion with a simply constructed economical device giving high accuracy and reliability whilst not requiring the fine tolerances of toothed gear mechanisms. The linear motion is transferred via a lever connected to a wire link wound round an indicator shaft which rotates when the lever moves linearly. The wire operates under return spring tension, the upper end of the spring (6) being attached to the top end of a triangular backing plate (2) and the lower end to the link fitted between the front (1) and rear (2) plates.
