<p>Foil coiling machine, is esp. for foils which travel through a longitudinal slitting machine before passing between a contact roll and the coiling spool. The roll is mounted in a slide so it can be driven radially by a double acting work cylinder to adjust the contact pressure of the contact roll as the dia. of the coil of foil on a spool increases. The out-of-roundness of the spool, or of the periphery of the coil being wound on a spool, is monitored by either a control cylinder, or an optical scanner, providing signals to a controller. The controller adjusts the hydraulic pressure in the cylinder to correspond with the oscillation of the roll, the oscillation being due to the out-of-roundness.</p> |
