<p>The compact electromagnetic shutter drive has two opposingly moving, reciprocating shutter blades (2, 3) which move over each other to close the aperture. They are coupled to a solenoid (10) by slots (5, 6) in the blades and pegs (16, 17) in the solenoid. In the closed position of the shutter, part of the solenoid assembly covers the aperture, thus reducing the effective length of the drive. The system is suitable for mounting in small cameras in which the short stroke enables a compact design to be used. The solenoid core is coupled to the drive by a second pin and slot (19) so that an inertial drive can be achieved.</p> |
