The paving slab, made of concrete, artificial stone or similar, as laid on paths, garage forecourts, courtyards and elsewhere, is of reduced weight so as to be more easily handled and transported. This effect is achieved by incorporating one or more cutouts (6) to form a hollow space, at a small interval from the peripheral edges of the slab (5), in its underside (2), leaving an edge laying strip. There may be a number of such hollows, leaving layout strips arranged in a cruciform pattern (7), pref. narrower than the edge ones (4). The cutout depth can comprise between half and two-thirds of the thickness of the slab. Material and costs are saved, and with slabs of suitable size two can be carried at a time to or from transport vehicles.
|
